Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival 2026 drives halal industry growth

The 13th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2026, held from October 14–18 at the Jakarta International Convention Center, has recorded significant achievements in the sharia economic ecosystem. Business matching for sharia financing and trade reached Rp3.16 trillion, comprising Rp2.6 trillion in financing and Rp558.4 billion in trade. Additionally, sharia money market and foreign exchange cooperation commitments totaled Rp6.05 trillion.

Bank Indonesia (BI) facilitated the participation of various MSMEs from regions including Jakarta, Tasikmalaya, and Kediri, showcasing products such as halal food, modest fashion, and crafts. Notable business deals included Bank Mega Syariah signing financing agreements worth approximately Rp196.9 billion. BCA Syariah also strengthened interbank liquidity through SiPA transactions with four other banks.

To strengthen the ecosystem, BI launched three key programs: the Islamic Financial Market Code of Conduct (ICoC) to enhance market integrity, the Zakat Core Principles (ZCP) 2.0 for improved zakat governance, and an international scholarship program funded by sharia social funds. West Java was also recognized as the top Muslim-friendly tourism province in the 2026 Indonesia Muslim Travel Index.
