Indonesia signs joint decree to boost women's empowerment and child protection

The Indonesian government has signed a Joint Ministerial Decree regarding Indonesia Shared Spaces (RBI) to strengthen women's empowerment and child protection across various regions. The decree was signed in Jakarta by Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Arifah Fauzi, and Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Minister Yandri Susanto.

Minister Karnavian stated that the decree serves as a formal reference for regional governments to design local protection programs. He confirmed that his ministry is prepared to oversee the allocation of funding for these initiatives through the 2027 regional budgets and other legal sources. The move is described as an implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's vision to prioritize human resource development and gender equality.

Minister Arifah Fauzi noted that the RBI initiative acts as a collaborative platform intended to integrate existing programs, resources, and services. By unifying previously separate initiatives, the government aims to create a more significant and reinforced impact for women, children, and families.
