Indonesia state-owned insurance consolidation targets year-end completion

The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) aims to complete the consolidation of dozens of state-owned insurance companies by the end of 2026. As the merger approaches, officials are emphasizing the necessity of robust corporate governance to guide the transition.

Inosentius Samsul, Senior Director of Legal at PT Danantara Asset Management, highlighted that the Business Judgment Rule must be supported by comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Corporate Governance (GCG) processes, and thorough legal and business studies. He noted that documentation and check-and-balance mechanisms are vital to proving that decisions are made with good faith and in the best interest of the companies.

In line with these efforts, IFG is promoting business transformation focused on financial resilience and sustainable value through prudent and accountable practices. Rizal Ariansyah, IFG Director of HR and Legal, stated that business transformation must be accompanied by disciplined risk management and rational decision-making to provide a foundation for future growth and innovation.
