Indonesia targets four gold medals at 2026 Asian Games

Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir has called for public support for the Indonesian contingent competing in the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The event is scheduled to take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

Indonesia has set a target of winning four gold medals at the games. This goal is an adjustment from the 2022 Asian Games, where the nation secured seven gold medals, due to three key disciplines being excluded from the 2026 program. The Indonesian contingent is expected to consist of 432 athletes and 148 officials representing 35 different sports.
