Indonesia targets world's fastest trademark registration by 2027

Indonesia's Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, has announced a target to establish the world's fastest trademark registration service by 2027. The goal is to reduce the current processing time of approximately six months down to just 32 days.

As part of an ongoing transformation of intellectual property services, the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) is currently working to reduce service times to five months. The government aims to provide faster legal certainty for businesses, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to enhance product competitiveness in the market.

During a recent event in Bandung, officials noted that improvements are being made through service innovations designed to shorten examination periods without compromising the quality or accuracy of the process.
