Indonesia to Raise Civil Servants' Pension Payments Starting 2026

The Indonesian government announced that pension payments for retired civil servants (PNS) will be increased beginning 1 January 2026. The adjustment will raise basic pension salaries by roughly 7 % to 10 %, with the exact percentage varying by pension class. The increase aims to preserve retirees’ purchasing power amid inflation, recognize their service, and boost household welfare.

Implementation details include the legal basis for the change, the effective date, funding sources, and the role of PT Taspen in disbursing the revised amounts. Officials expect the higher pensions to raise retirees’ consumption, support domestic demand, and improve overall quality of life for former civil servants.
