Indonesia to refine DTSEN data for targeted social assistance

The Indonesian government is working to improve the accuracy of social assistance (bansos) and subsidy distribution by refining the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN). This initiative aims to ensure that social protection programs, food aid, and various subsidies reach the correct target groups based on updated decile classifications.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated during a DPR plenary session that the DTSEN will serve as the primary source for designing, implementing, and evaluating development programs to ensure they are effective, efficient, and accountable. The government also plans to strengthen synergy with regional authorities to validate and update this data.

In the 2027 State Budget Draft (RAPBN 2027), social protection remains a priority to help meet basic needs, maintain purchasing power, and alleviate poverty. The proposed state expenditure for the 2027 budget is Rp 4,097.2 trillion, with a focus on social protection, education, health, infrastructure, and food and energy security.
