Indonesia Trade Minister invites US businesses to Trade Expo Indonesia 2026
Indonesian Minister of Trade Budi Santoso has invited United States business entities to participate as buyers in the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), scheduled for October 14–18, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Tangerang.
During the 14th Annual US-Indonesia Investment Summit in Jakarta, Santoso highlighted Indonesia’s strategic position within the Indo-Pacific as a hub for production, investment, and export. He emphasized that the nation offers a growing market, a productive young workforce, and abundant natural resources.
In a separate meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Indonesia, Santoso addressed industrial needs, specifically regarding the acceleration of services for sourcing raw materials. He encouraged businesses to report any domestic raw material shortages so the government can take appropriate action.
Discussions with AmCham also covered concerns regarding halal certification requirements and the progress of the Indonesia-US Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART). Santoso noted that the government is awaiting developments regarding excess capacity investigations and remains committed to domestic reforms to strengthen industry and expand global cooperation.
