Southeast Asian U-20 teams prepare for AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers

Southeast Asian national teams are preparing for the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers, which will take place in Laos from August 31 to September 6, 2026.

Indonesia's U-20 squad, coached by Nova Arianto, is currently training in Thailand. As part of their preparation, they are scheduled to face Iraq U-20 in a friendly match. Indonesia is placed in Group H alongside Malaysia, Australia, and the host nation, Laos. Their group stage campaign begins against Malaysia on August 31.

Malaysia has announced a 23-man squad for the qualifiers, featuring players primarily from Johor Darul Ta’zim IV, Selangor FC, and the Mokhtar Dahari Academy. Their roster includes goalkeeper Kaveen Shanmugesh Waran, who currently plays for Portugal's Vizela U-19.

Singapore has also named a 24-man squad for their qualifying campaign in Bhutan. Led by head coach Syed Azmir and captain Andy Reefqy, Singapore is drawn into Group J with Bhutan, Chinese Taipei, and Macau. Their matches are scheduled to run from August 25 to September 6.
