Indonesia U-20 qualifies for 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup

The Indonesia U-20 national team has officially qualified for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup in China after finishing as winners of Group H in the qualifying round. The team secured their spot following a 2-0 victory against Australia in Laos. As a result of their performance, Indonesia has been placed in Pot 3 for the tournament draw, alongside Thailand, Tajikistan, and Oman.

Following their return to Jakarta, PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi announced that head coach Nova Arianto has been granted full autonomy to design the team's preparation program, including selecting training locations and friendly match opponents.

However, the squad will face a setback as Mitchell Baker has been ruled ineligible for the tournament. Despite his recent impressive performance in the 2026 AFF U-19 Cup, Baker's birth date of December 11, 2006, falls outside the AFC regulation requiring players to be born on or after January 1, 2007.
