Indonesia urged to release extra salary funds for civil servants

Member of the DPR, Muhammad Kholid, called on the Indonesian central government to promptly approve and disburse additional salary transfers (TKD) for civil servants in roughly 490 local governments that are facing budget shortfalls. He urged Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian to finalize the calculations and report the results to the President to ensure timely payment for ASN, teachers, health workers and contract staff.

Kholid warned that the payroll crisis, now affecting hundreds of regions nationwide, could have systemic repercussions for public service delivery and regional development if not addressed swiftly. He also appealed to local authorities to tighten non‑essential spending while maintaining essential public services.
