Indonesia urges Chinese mining firms to strengthen regulatory compliance

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is encouraging Chinese mining companies operating in Indonesia to strengthen their compliance with national regulations. This initiative aims to ensure that mineral resource management and investments align with national provisions and support sustainable development.

To facilitate this, the Ministry, alongside PT Zishan Tambang Indonesia, held a second training session focused on mining policies and regulatory compliance. The program, organized by the Geological Agency and the Center for Human Resources Development (PPSDM) Geominerba, included 50 participants from over 20 companies. The training serves to improve communication and cooperation between the government, industry, and academia to ensure long-term commitment and mutual trust in the sector, which contributes between 8 to 12 percent to Indonesia's GDP.
