Indonesia verifies assets for Koperasi Desa Merah Putih program
The Indonesian government is conducting a comprehensive verification and validation (Verval) process for the assets of the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) program. This initiative aims to ensure that buildings, facilities, and operational assets, such as vehicles, meet technical specifications before being officially handed over to village governments.
Minister of Village and Regional Development, Yandri Susanto, stated that the process involves approximately 24,000 KDKMP buildings nationwide. The verification includes reviews by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and involves the Ministry of Public Works to ensure all assets are functional and compliant with standards. If assets do not meet requirements, they must be repaired before the handover process is completed.
In North Kalimantan, the provincial government is holding a monitoring and evaluation forum for the 2026 fiscal year. Currently, 41 cooperatives in the province are undergoing the Verval process through the SIMKOPDES management information system. Of these, 22 have completed field verifications, while others are in various stages of finalization or scheduling. Regional officials emphasized that these cooperatives serve as the backbone of the local people's economy.
