Indonesia athletes advance in teqball and volleyball at 2026 Asian Games
Indonesian athletes are making significant progress at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. In teqball, Sumaya has secured a place in the women's singles final after defeating India's Quimcy Joaquim Dsouza with a score of 12-7 in the deciding set. This achievement offers Indonesia a chance at its first gold medal in the teqball discipline.
In women's volleyball, the Indonesian national team has advanced to the quarter-finals. Despite a 1-3 loss to host nation Japan in their final Pool A match, Indonesia finished as the runner-up of the group following an earlier 3-0 victory over Nepal. They are scheduled to face Thailand in the quarter-finals.
In women's basketball, Indonesia secured a 61-52 victory over Thailand in their opening Group A match. Kimberley Pierre-Louis led the team with a double-double, recording 14 points and 16 rebounds. Indonesia will next face China to continue their group stage campaign.
