Indonesian Special‑Crimes Prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah Resigns Amid Corruption Probe

Jaksa Agung Muda Bidang Tindak Pidana Khusus (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah submitted his resignation on 11 July 2026, which was formally accepted by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. The resignation was presented as a step to preserve the integrity, objectivity and neutrality of the prosecution amid an ongoing police investigation.

Police raids on 12 locations, including Adriansyah’s Sentul residence, seized cash worth more than US$20 million in several currencies and 74 kg of gold bars. The raids are part of a joint investigation into alleged corruption and money‑laundering linked to state‑insurance firms Asabri and Jiwasraya, coal procurement for electricity that caused recent blackouts, and other large‑scale graft cases.

Adriansyah denied any wrongdoing, stating he did not understand the alleged link to the blackout case and called for a full audit of coal procurement. The Attorney General’s Office said his departure will not affect ongoing prosecutions and that the Jampidsus unit will continue its work under existing procedures. The House of Representatives announced it will form a supervisory team, while the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs urged the public to remain calm and trust the legal process.
