Indonesian Attorney General's Office investigates corruption and abuse of power
The Indonesian Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) is conducting multiple investigations into allegations of corruption and abuse of authority.
In Lampung, investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAM PIDSUS) questioned four witnesses regarding alleged corruption involving PT PSMI. The case concerns the unauthorized use of forest areas for plantation activities within the PT INHUTANI V area. Witnesses included representatives from the Ministry of Forestry, a former official from the Way Kanan Forestry Service, and a staff member from PT PSMI.
Separately, the Attorney General's Office is examining Fachrizal, the Head of the Konawe District Attorney's Office, following reports of alleged abuse of power. Fachrizal was detained by the legal intelligence team for further questioning in Jakarta. If the investigation confirms violations of the code of ethics, the matter will be referred to the Junior Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas).
