Indonesian authorities arrest Brazilian woman with cocaine in Bali

A 36-year-old Brazilian woman was arrested at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, Indonesia, after authorities discovered approximately 3.6 kg of liquid cocaine hidden in seven shampoo bottles and other cosmetic containers.

The suspect reportedly confessed to possessing the drugs, stating she was to receive US$ 50,000 for transporting and delivering the substance to an individual identified only as 'G' in Bali. Indonesian National Police described the incident as one of the largest liquid cocaine seizures in Bali in recent years.

Due to Indonesia's strict drug trafficking laws, the woman faces potential life imprisonment or the death penalty. The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Embassy in Jakarta, is providing consular assistance following a request from her family.
