Indonesian authorities investigate multiple cases of minor abuse

Indonesian authorities are addressing multiple cases of alleged sexual violence and abuse involving minors across different regions.

In Bekasi, the Metro Bekasi Kota Police are investigating allegations of repeated sexual violence at an Islamic boarding school (pesantren). Investigators have identified more than 10 victims, with the abuse reportedly occurring between 2023 and September 2026. Police are coordinating with local women and child protection agencies to provide psychological recovery and assessments for the victims.

In Jakarta, the Metro Jakarta Pusat Police, alongside local government agencies, are providing psychological support to students following allegations of violence and harassment by a teacher at SMKN 27 Jakarta. The allegations surfaced via social media, involving claims of physical punishment and inappropriate behavior. The teacher has been suspended by the Jakarta Provincial Government while investigations continue.

In Lebak, the UPTD PPA is providing psychological assistance and medical monitoring to a victim of alleged sexual abuse by a shaman in the Malingping district. While the victim's physical health has reportedly improved following medical treatment, authorities noted that psychological recovery will be a long-term process. Officials are also coordinating with education authorities to manage the victim's schooling during recovery.
