Indonesian authorities seize thousands of illegal pills in Cirebon and Jakarta

Law enforcement agencies in Indonesia have conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of thousands of illegal pills and the arrest of several distributors.

In Cirebon, Polresta Cirebon officers arrested three individuals in the Arjawinangun and Susukan districts. During the raids, police seized 4,820 tablets of Tramadol and 2,037 tablets of Trihexyphenidyl. The suspects were linked to a supply chain involving larger distributors currently being pursued by authorities.

In Jakarta, a joint task force including the police, military, and food and drug authorities conducted an operation in the Tanah Abang market area. Officers apprehended two distributors and seized over 4,000 tablets of Tramadol and Hexymer, along with cash from sales. Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin stated that the seized medications lacked official distribution standards and clear branding, posing significant health risks to the public.
