Indonesian business trends highlight solopreneurship and travel insurance growth
At the Indonesia Fintech Summit & Expo 2026, Bank Saqu’s Head of Corporate Communication & Marketing, Willy Apriando, discussed the development of a solopreneur mindset. He emphasized that individuals can transform hobbies, freelance work, or side hustles into economic opportunities by identifying market needs and validating ideas through simple approaches before scaling up. Apriando also highlighted the necessity of separating personal and business finances to maintain clear cash flow.
Separately, PT Asuransi Asei Indonesia reported positive trends in its travel insurance business as of August 2026. Managing Director Dody Dalimunthe noted that while the travel insurance portfolio is smaller than other insurance products, it shows significant growth potential driven by increasing business and leisure mobility. Dalimunthe observed that modern consumers are becoming more price-sensitive and are seeking insurance products that are simple, easy to purchase, and offer clear benefits.
