Indonesian Cities Roll Out Digital Tools and Bureaucratic Overhaul

The Pekalongan city government launched three new digital applications: a document‑tracking and e‑signature system, a platform for inter‑agency cooperation, and an information system for religious‑administrative data. Mayor Afzan Arslan Djunaid said the tools are meant to speed public services, cut red tape and improve data security.

In Pasuruan, Mayor Mas Adi swore in 87 newly appointed civil servants, including senior and functional posts, as part of a bureaucratic refresh. The reshuffle targets faster, more transparent public services, especially in health, and stresses a digital, responsive, and innovative work culture.
