Indonesian cities strengthen data governance via One Data Indonesia

Local governments in Sorong and Dumai are intensifying efforts to strengthen data governance through the One Data Indonesia (SDI) initiative to ensure more accurate regional development planning.

In Sorong, the government held a forum to align visions and improve coordination among regional agencies. Acting Regional Secretary Ruddy R Laku emphasized that accurate and integrated data is a foundation for planning, implementation, and evaluation. The initiative follows Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019, aiming to build effective and accountable data management between central and local institutions.

In Dumai, the city government is focusing on synchronizing data across various regional apparatuses (OPD) using the Si-DATIN service managed by the Communication, Informatics, Statistics, and Encryption Office. Representing the Mayor, Zainur urged agencies to provide complete and up-to-date sectoral data to prevent discrepancies that could negatively impact policy-making and development programs.
