Indonesian correctional facilities implement security checks and family visitation programs

Correctional facilities in Indonesia are implementing various measures to improve security and inmate welfare. At the Class I Bandar Lampung Prison, officials conducted routine inspections of residential blocks to ensure a sterile environment free from mobile phones, illegal levies, and drugs. The Head of Security, Keynes, emphasized that all inmates receive equal housing standards, regardless of whether their crimes involve corruption, narcotics, or general offenses.

Meanwhile, the Class IIA Salemba Prison in Jakarta has resumed face-to-face visitation services specifically for the children of inmates. Prison Head Amico Balalembang stated that these meetings are intended to maintain family bonds and provide emotional support, which serves as motivation for inmates during their rehabilitation process and prepares them for social reintegration.
