Indonesian correctional facilities launch inmate vocational training

Indonesian correctional facilities are implementing vocational training programs to provide inmates with practical skills for reintegration into society.

In Banyumas, the Rutan Kelas IIB Banyumas, in collaboration with PCW Al Irsyad, conducted a training session for female inmates on how to make mackerel pempek. The program covers everything from ingredient recognition and dough preparation to shaping and processing. Officials stated the goal is to provide a foundation for independent business activities once the inmates return to their communities.

Similarly, Rutan Kelas I Cipinang has developed a tempe production program. Inmates are involved in every stage of the process, from processing soybeans to producing finished products. According to Head of Rutan Cipinang, I Gusti Lanang, the initiative aims to foster discipline and responsibility while contributing to national food security through productive food processing.
