Indonesian Customs Grant Bonded Zone to PT Daw Son Indonesia to Boost Luggage Exports

The Regional Customs Office for Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta awarded a Kawasan Berikat (bonded‑zone) facility to PT Daw Son Indonesia, a luggage manufacturer based in Jepara, Central Java. The facility provides tax and duty exemptions—including suspension of import duties, excise, VAT and income tax—reducing production costs and speeding goods flow.

Customs chief Agus Yulianto said the grant is “part of the government’s effort to raise the competitiveness of national industry, encourage investment, expand export markets and create jobs.” PT Daw Son plans to increase its output from 840,000 units in 2026 to 1,008,000 units by 2030, with investment rising from Rp 35 billion to Rp 55 billion. Employment is expected to grow from 411 workers to about 700. The company exports primarily to the United States and the United Kingdom, aiming to strengthen Indonesia’s manufacturing export contribution.
