Indonesian Defence Chief Agus Subiyanto Inaugurates 734 Officers, Calls for Tech Mastery

On 27 July 2026, General Agus Subiyanto, the Panglima TNI (Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces), presided over the commissioning ceremony for 734 career officers at Lapangan Prima, the main field of the TNI headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta. The cohort includes 438 Army, 203 Navy and 93 Air Force officers.

In his address, Subiyanto emphasized that the armed forces face increasingly complex tasks that require strategic insight and proficiency with modern technology. He urged the newly commissioned officers to adopt the PRIMA qualities—Professional, Responsive, Integrative, Modern, and Adaptive—and to uphold the TNI’s core values while mastering emerging technological tools.

The ceremony marks the start of these officers’ service in safeguarding Indonesia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.
