Indonesia football updates: ASEAN Cup preparations and domestic league developments

Indonesian football is seeing significant activity across various levels. In the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, Indonesia prepares to face Malaysia. Coach John Herdman noted that the squad is still in a developmental phase and has not yet fielded its strongest lineup. Players such as Emil Audero, Dean James, and Ragnar Oratmangoen are currently under medical observation following recent matches.

In domestic league competitions, several notable events occurred. A match between Persiku Kudus and PSIS Semarang at Sultan Agung Stadium was canceled due to a lack of security recommendations from the Bantul Police. Despite the cancellation, PSIS Semarang coach Widodo Cahyono Putro expressed gratitude to the Panser Biru supporters who traveled to Bantul.

Other match results include PSMS Medan securing a 1-0 victory over Adhyaksa FC thanks to a goal by Javier Siverio, and Semen Padang FC defeating PSGC Ciamis 2-0. Meanwhile, Persib Bandung is managing a dense schedule for October 2026, involving seven matches across three different competitions, while also monitoring the recovery of players Gakuto Notsuda and Sandy Walsh.
