Indonesian goat satay ranked among world's best skewers by TasteAtlas

Indonesian goat satay (sate kambing) has been recognized as one of the best skewers in the world according to the 2026 TasteAtlas rankings. The dish received a score of 4.5 out of 5, placing it within the top five global skewers.

In the rankings, Indonesian goat satay shares its score with anticuchos de corazón, a Peruvian beef heart skewer. The Indonesian dish outperformed other international varieties, including Greek souvlaki and Iranian kabab koobideh.

Sate kambing is characterized by meat pieces marinated in spices and grilled over high heat, often utilizing fat to maintain a juicy texture. It is typically served with sweet soy sauce, shallots, chilies, and lime to create a balance of savory, sweet, and acidic flavors.
