Prabowo Subianto receives legislative support for procurement and mining reforms

Indonesian lawmakers are expressing support for President Prabowo Subianto’s recent policy directives aimed at improving governance and law enforcement.

Muhammad Kholid, a member of Commission XI of the DPR RI from the PKS faction, voiced support for the President’s plan to elevate the status of the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) to a Government Procurement Agency. Kholid noted that consolidating procurement processes across central and regional governments would prevent budget waste caused by uncoordinated purchasing and serve as a direct method for corruption mitigation through increased transparency.

Separately, Abdullah, a member of Commission III of the DPR RI from the PKB faction, expressed full support for the President’s instructions to the National Police Chief and the Commander of the TNI to investigate illegal tin mining. Abdullah emphasized the need to dismantle illegal mining networks and target those providing protection to such activities, urging law enforcement to act professionally and without bias against any parties involved.
