Indonesian local agencies expand civil administration services

Local government agencies in Indonesia are implementing technological innovations to improve the accessibility of civil administration services.

In Dharmasraya Regency, the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) has expanded its SIGADINK EMAS-25 program. Originally launched in 2020 as a pilot in three villages, the initiative has grown to include 40 villages. The program aims to bring administrative services closer to residents' homes, responding to national regulations regarding online population administration services.

In the Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu), Jakarta, the local Dukcapil office has introduced the 'Lantas Samudera' (Ocean Without Limits) service to overcome geographical challenges posed by the sea. This program integrates several existing innovations to ensure residents on various islands can access their civil rights without being hindered by maritime distances. Officials emphasized that all population document services remain free of charge.
