Indonesian local governments provide aid to veterans for Independence Day

Local governments in Indonesia have distributed aid to veterans and their widows to commemorate the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

In Padang Panjang, Vice Mayor Allex Saputra delivered food assistance to 17 veterans and widows across the Padang Panjang, Batipuh, and X Koto regions. The initiative aims to honor the sacrifices made by independence fighters and provide support for their daily needs.

In Lamongan, East Java, the regency government provided financial assistance of Rp1.5 million each to 58 veterans and widows. The distribution, led by Regent Yuhronur Efendi, was held at the Lamongan Square. Additionally, the local government granted general remissions to 419 inmates at the Lamongan Class IIB Correctional Institution as part of the national celebrations.
