Indonesian local governments upgrade regional sports stadiums

Local governments in Indonesia are undertaking various sports infrastructure improvements. In Rembang, the regency government has allocated Rp800 million through the 2026 revised regional budget for the rehabilitation of Stadion Krida Rembang and the construction of an athlete dormitory. The rehabilitation aims to repair damaged fences, stands, toilets, and spectator areas to improve safety and comfort. Further developments, including a jogging track, are planned for 2027.

In Kediri, the city government has begun replacing the perimeter fencing at Stadion Brawijaya to enhance spectator comfort and security. The project involves installing 100 meters of three-meter-high iron fencing, which is significantly taller and sturdier than the previous 1.5-meter fence. This upgrade has reportedly increased the stadium's risk assessment score from 62 to 65, as evaluated by the East Java Regional Police.
