Indonesian Local Legislators Tackle Infrastructure, Education and Regulatory Reform

West Java provincial legislator Iwan Koswara held a public oversight session in Bekasi’s Mustikasari neighbourhood, hearing residents’ complaints about recurring flood damage, costly kindergarten graduation fees of about Rp 400,000 per child, and inadequate Posyandu health facilities. He pledged to coordinate with relevant agencies to improve drainage, reduce school‑related financial burdens and upgrade community health services.

Meanwhile, the Special Committee I of the Kapuas Regency DPRD travelled to West Java to examine draft regulations on hajj services, waste management and narcotics control (P4GN). The delegation met officials in Sumedang and Bogor, reviewing Sumedang’s "Bersinar" anti‑narcotics program and local waste‑handling practices, with the aim of bringing back effective policy models for implementation in Kapuas.
