Indonesian Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Raping Daughter in Malaysia
A 56‑year‑old Indonesian citizen was convicted in Kuala Lumpur for six counts of statutory rape of his 19‑year‑old daughter between October 2021 and June 2022. DNA testing confirmed he fathered the baby born to the victim. The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court imposed ten years of imprisonment and ten strokes of the cane for each count, totaling a 60‑year prison term and 60 canings, to be served consecutively from the date of his arrest on 23 July.
The court noted the severe psychological impact on the victim, including deep depression and suicidal ideation. The prosecutor highlighted the defendant's previous sexual offence history, and the judge ordered the sentences to run separately for each offence.
