Indonesian military conducts maritime drills and aircraft carrier tests
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) have conducted a series of maritime exercises to enhance interoperability and combat readiness. In Jakarta Bay, VIP and VVIP helicopters from the Air Force (TNI AU) and Army (TNI AD) successfully performed landing and take-off drills from the aircraft carrier KRI Sriwijaya-100. These drills included various maneuvers such as High Recce, Low Recce, Dummy Approach, Touch and Go, and Full Stop, aimed at preparing personnel for modern warfare.
Simultaneously, in the waters north of Bali, the Indonesian Navy is participating in the Keris Woomera 2026 joint combat exercise alongside the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The exercise, scheduled from October 10 to 20, 2026, involves the Indonesian vessel KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM)-367 and Panther helicopters, working with Australian warships HMAS Choules, HMAS Stalwart, and HMAS Perth. The mission focuses on testing operational readiness, tactical capabilities, and synchronizing communication procedures for joint maritime operations.
