Indonesian Ministry of Law evaluates legal aid service standards

Regional offices of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights, including those in South Sumatra and West Nusa Tenggara, participated in a Policy Strategy Discussion (DSK) held via Zoom on September 9, 2026. The forum focused on analyzing and evaluating Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 4 of 2021 regarding Legal Aid Service Standards.

Andry Indrady, Head of the Legal Policy Strategy Agency, stated that policy evaluation is essential to ensure regulations remain effective, adaptive, and provide tangible benefits to the public. The discussion aimed to strengthen the implementation of legal aid services to ensure they are high-quality, effective, and equitable. Evaluations indicated that the 2021 regulation has already had a positive impact on increasing public access to legal assistance.
