Indonesian Ministry of Transportation and Police strengthen holiday security coordination

The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation and the National Police (Polri) are strengthening their synergy to ensure public safety and smooth transportation during the upcoming Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period and the 2027 Eid al-Fitr holidays.

During a meeting at the Polri Headquarters in Jakarta, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi and National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto discussed coordination across land, sea, and air transport sectors. The collaboration aims to enhance security operations, manage high travel volumes, and improve the handling of transportation accidents.

Key focus areas include traffic management to reduce congestion and increased cooperation between the Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) and the Ministry of Transportation to minimize accidents. The two agencies also discussed potential cooperation in educational sectors.
