Indonesian modest fashion festivals showcase traditional textiles for global markets

The collaboration between the Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MOTIONFEST) and Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2026 aims to elevate Indonesian traditional textiles, known as wastra Nusantara, into the global contemporary fashion market. Designers are focusing on transforming traditional motifs into modern, ready-to-wear pieces that align with international trends and the growing demand for sustainability.

Bank Indonesia's Ndari Surjaningsih noted that the unification of these two events is a strategic move to strengthen the halal value chain within the modest fashion sector. The showcase features various local designers and brands, including Deden Siswanto, YASA, FUSTAN by DOTS Indonesia, Itang Yunasz, Nina Nugroho, Dian Pelangi, Purana, and Vivi Zubedi, blending cultural identity with modern silhouettes.
