Indonesian MSMEs receive support for legality and market expansion

Efforts to strengthen Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia are being driven through educational initiatives and product quality curation. In Boyolali, Central Java, students from Universitas Diponegoro are assisting MSMEs in Jerukan Village to improve business legality. The program focuses on the importance of the Business Identification Number (NIB) via the Online Single Submission system and provides guidance on obtaining halal certification to increase consumer trust and competitiveness.

In Yogyakarta, the city government has organized a product quality curation program for 28 culinary MSMEs. The initiative aims to prepare local products, such as bakpia, herbal drinks, and snacks, for entry into modern retail markets, hotels, and cafes. The curation process evaluates taste, packaging, food safety, and quality consistency to facilitate partnerships with potential buyers and expand market access.
