IAWP Annual Training Conference 2026 opens in Bali

The 63rd International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Annual Training Conference is currently being held in Bali, Indonesia, from September 20 to 24, 2026. The event, themed ‘Women Leading Global Change’, brings together approximately 450 participants representing 43 countries to foster global collaboration and exchange expertise among female law enforcement officers.

Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo opened the conference, emphasizing the importance of gender equality and the capacity of policewomen to lead. He noted that women are not merely participants in change but can be leaders of it, even suggesting that the Indonesian National Police could one day be led by a woman. He cited the 2025 Global Gender Gap Report, which suggests it may take 123 years to achieve full global gender equality.

During the conference, AKBP Hety Padmawati, a high-ranking officer from the Lampung Regional Police, received the IAWP Leadership award for her contributions to the force. To ensure the safety of the international delegates and the various high-level meetings occurring in the Nusa Dua area, the Indonesian National Police has deployed 744 personnel for security operations.
