On 5 August 2026 the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) organized two separate ceremonies to honor military personnel. In Jakarta, the Association of Retired Navy Personnel (PPAL) led by former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and PPAL chairman Admiral (Ret.) Yudo Margono visited the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, laid flowers on the graves of national heroes and stressed the importance of preserving their spirit as part of PPAL’s 40th‑anniversary celebrations.

Later, at Pantai Todak in the Riau Islands, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, DPR Commission I chairman Utut Adianto and senior service chiefs were awarded the honorary title of “Warga Kehormatan Korps Marinir” and received brevet honors for anti‑terror, amphibious and command capabilities from Chief of Staff of the Navy Admiral Muhammad Ali. The awards coincided with the Integrated TNI Exercise 2026, with the minister affirming the armed forces’ readiness to protect Indonesia’s sovereignty.
