Ex‑Brimob Officer Dedy Wiratama Accused of Facilitating Samarinda Drug Network

Former Brimob member Bripka Dedy Wiratama was dismissed from the police force and placed under investigation for allegedly aiding a drug‑trafficking network in the Gang Langgar area of Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

Police say Wiratama acted as a “sniper,” not a shooter, but a field monitor who used a handy‑talky to warn network members of any police activity and to coordinate the movement of narcotics, primarily methamphetamine. The network operates a structured “drug village” with multiple overseers and communication devices.

The disciplinary hearing on 2 June 2026 resulted in Wiratama’s termination and a 15‑day special placement. On 5 June he was transferred to the Bareskrim Polri headquarters in Jakarta for intensive criminal investigation, where he is being questioned on his involvement in the drug trade and alleged personal use of narcotics.
