Indonesian palm oil stakeholders focus on industry transformation
The Indonesian palm oil industry is focusing on technological advancement and regulatory transformation to ensure long-term sustainability. The Indonesian Planter Society (IPS) is advocating for increased efficiency and reliability in palm oil mills. IPS Chairman Jamalul emphasized the need to strengthen human resource competence and master technology to reduce oil loss during the processing of fresh fruit bunches.
Simultaneously, the Indonesian Palm Oil Stakeholders (IPOS) Forum is scheduled for October 29-30, 2026, in Medan, North Sumatra. Organized by the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) of North Sumatra, the forum aims to address critical challenges including smallholder palm oil rejuvenation (PSR), industry governance transformation, and the B50 biodiesel mandate that took effect on July 1, 2026. Discussions are also expected to cover forest area compliance, land legal certainty, and potential single-door palm oil export policies.
