Indonesian DPR Hajj Oversight Reports Satisfaction with Transport, Food, and Tighter Tent Oversight

The DPR’s Hajj monitoring team (Timwas) inspected around 30 pilgrims from Surabaya staying at Hotels 103 and 111 in Makkah on 22 May. The team said most pilgrims were pleased with the 24‑hour bus service and the quantity and variety of meals, but noted that the flavor did not suit Indonesian tastes. It also reported that some pilgrims had not received identity bracelets, which are vital for registration and safety during the upcoming Armuzna phase.

At a follow‑up meeting with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on 24 May, the team highlighted stricter supervision of tent operators (syarikah). As one member said, “Before we were sometimes told a tent held 100, but actually 50. Now it is checked tightly.” The DPR will use these findings to recalculate Hajj costs and improve services for future pilgrimages.
