Indonesian Pediatric Society urges Ministry of Health to respect Supreme Court ruling

The Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) has urged the Ministry of Health to respect a Supreme Court ruling and refrain from filing a judicial review (PK) regarding the mutation and dismissal of Dr. Piprim Basarah Yanuarso.

The Supreme Court's cassation decision (Number 464 K/TUN/2026) ruled in favor of Dr. Piprim, whose administrative sanctions followed his critical stance on the independence of medical collegiums after the enactment of Health Law Number 17 of 2023.

IDAI Cardiology UKK Chair Rizky Adriansyah stated that the ruling serves as a legal affirmation that administrative actions against doctors expressing professional criticism must comply with the law. He called on the Ministry to restore Dr. Piprim's status and rights, including his pediatric cardiology education.
