Indonesian players hold homegrown status in top European leagues

Several players from the Indonesia national football team hold ‘homegrown player’ status in top European leagues, a designation critical for meeting UEFA and domestic competition registration requirements.

Under UEFA regulations, clubs must include eight homegrown players in their squads: four must be ‘HG Club’ (trained by the club’s own academy) and four can be ‘HG Country’ (trained by other clubs within the same national association).

Emil Audero holds dual value due to this status. As a product of the Juventus academy, he is classified as ‘HG Club’ for Juventus. For Como 1907, he qualifies as ‘HG Country’ because his football training took place in Italy.

Elkan Baggott also holds homegrown status in England as a product of the Ipswich Town academy. These designations increase the market value and strategic importance of these players for their respective European clubs.
