Indonesian Police Arrest Drug Dealers and Wedding Dowry Thieves

Police in East Kalimantan’s Berau district arrested two men, identified as DA (43) and RU (51), after seizing 277 grams of methamphetamine and related equipment on 2 June. The suspects were detained following community tips and a police investigation that uncovered the drugs in the home of RU, along with cash reported to be worth roughly 30 million rupiah.

In South Sulawesi’s Bantaeng regency, officers captured a mother‑son duo, identified as BAS (52) and HAS (29), for stealing 55 million rupiah of wedding dowry money on 1 June. Both were arrested in separate locations after police linked them to the theft; they are relatives of the wedding’s organizers. The arrests were confirmed by the local police chief.

Both operations illustrate ongoing law‑enforcement actions against illicit drug trade and financial crimes in Indonesia.
