Indonesian police conduct religious visits to promote tolerance
Indonesian police officials are conducting “Minggu Kasih” (Compassion Sunday) activities at various churches to strengthen community relations and promote religious tolerance.
In Gorontalo, Regional Police Chief Irjen Pol. Nurworo Danang visited the GPdI Eklesia church. The visit aimed to gather community feedback regarding police duties and public security. The Chief emphasized the importance of family roles in protecting youth from radicalism and urged citizens to report potential security disturbances to the authorities.
In Batang, Police Chief Kombes Pol. Warsono attended services at the GKJ Batang church. This initiative follows directives from the National Police Chief to reinforce the concept of “Police with the Community.” During the visit, police provided detector equipment to the congregation to enhance security during worship services and foster interfaith harmony.
