Indonesian Police Crack Down on Large Meth Seizures in Aceh and East Kalimantan

Police in Aceh Barat arrested a 25‑year‑old suspect identified only as S after a community tip led officers to the village of Peunaga Cut Ujong. During the raid they seized 774.9 g of crystal meth (sabu) and an additional 0.23 g package, along with a mobile phone used for drug transactions.

In Kutai Timur, East Kalimantan, officers from the Muara Bengkal police unit detained a suspect known as J during the ongoing Operation Antik Mahakam 2026. The suspect attempted to conceal methamphetamine inside a glass jar. The operation, also prompted by information from residents, resulted in the confiscation of the narcotics and reinforced the regional police force’s effort to dismantle local drug‑trafficking networks.
