Indonesian police increase patrols to combat violent theft
Police departments in Indonesia are increasing efforts to prevent various forms of theft and violent crime. In East Kalimantan, the Regional Police have issued a public advisory warning citizens to remain vigilant against violent theft (Curas), particularly in public spaces and during travel. Authorities recommend that individuals avoid distractions, such as mobile phone use, and seek crowded, well-lit areas if they feel threatened.
Simultaneously, in North Lampung, the URC Presisi team from the North Lampung Resort Police has implemented mobile patrols targeting high-risk areas during nighttime hours. These patrols aim to prevent theft with weight, violent theft, and motorcycle theft (C3). Police officials are urging residents to secure their vehicles with additional locks and to report any suspicious activity to local authorities immediately.
